Dedicated Journey Series 2025
ARTIST STATEMENT
This series follows the Span of Time” series with a bit more focus on a quiet journey through the layers.
It is still a process that begins with a collage of images glued to board. This is followed by layers of colored pencil and/or acrylic paint to enrich the surface and hide or reveal what is underneath.
From afar these mixed media paintings are abstract. Up close, their identity is revealed and another journey can begin. I love working with the specificity of the time they represent, from the delicate calligraphy of the old letters to the annoying stickiness of our current fruit labels.
